‘Chaos’
Wende made several arrangements of the songs of her new album ‘No.9’ to perform in a series of three different club- and theatre programmes. The current theatre programme is called ‘Chaos’, which premiered on April 10th 2010 in Dutch theatres.
First in the series was Wende’s club tour ‘No.9’ starting directly after the release of the album ‘No.9’, taking Wende across Dutch club venues for the first time in her career.
It resulted in a performance at one of Europe’s most important festivals the ‘Noorderslag Festival’ in Groningen. Proving herself in the club scene also lead to several bookings at some major summer festivals (for dates see Agenda).
The second part of the series entailed a concert room project called ‘Breder dan Klassiek’ in collaboration with the string orchestra ‘Amsterdam Sinfonietta’. Wende’s new repertoire from ‘No.9’ was combined with some of Wende’s most well known songs and then
re-arranged for strings and a rhythm section. To complete the dynamics Wende added theatrical elements to the show including dance.
The collaboration with Amsterdam Sinfonietta proved to be successful and received numerous positive reviews in the Dutch press.
Third in the series is ‘Chaos’, which takes Wende across Dutch theatres in April and May 2010. For this programme Wende strips down her songs from ‘No.9’ to their bare essence.
‘Chaos’ is a search for a story about love in which Wende reveals some of her hidden musical talents. It’s bound to be the most theatrical programme of the entire series.
With the experiences of these three different programmes in mind Wende is set for the creation of her new theatre programme, which will premiere fall 2010.
With this new project Wende will be performing at some of the major Dutch theatre venues
and close the tour with two nights at the legendary ‘Amsterdam Carré.
