Wende

Wende’s professional career starts in 2001 when she wins the Concours de la Chanson in the ‘Kleine Komedie’. Two years later when she’s graduated from school she continues to explore the French Chanson genre. This results in her debut album ‘Quand tu dors’ and a theatre tour. The album instantly becomes a huge artistic and commercial success.

The following years are years of recognition. She wins award after award, including the Britisch American Tobacco Award, and her debut album (2002) as well as it’s successor
‘La Fille Noyee’(2006) reach gold status. To top it of the theatre shows are completely sold out as well as her performance at the ‘Paradiso’ in Amsterdam.

Her new tour, entitled Wende, premiered in October 2007 and was unanimously praised by the Dutch press.

In 2008 Wende presents her self produced album ‘Chante!’ with songs in French, English, Dutch, Spanish and South African. The album has an intimate jazz-inspired setting.
After finishing her tour in January she performs for the first time in New York in October 2008. The first step towards an international music career has been made.

Wende played, amongst others things, for a completely sold out Paradiso, several times with the Metropole Orchestra, at the North Sea Jazz festival and Oerol. In January 2010 she will go on tour with the Synfonietta Orkest.

Her new album ‘No. 9’ will be released in October 2009 together with her new club tour.
After a journey through the world, lots of new impressions and encounters she’s able to reveal a completely new sound which has no limit in style or taste. Whether you like dance, pop, rock, singer – songwriter or blues it will all be there.
For the first time she wrote all songs herself, learned to play guitar and composed the songs with Jan van Eerd.

The result is No. 9 which stands for experimentalism, fire, loneliness and trying to connect.
